Description: Small shrub with thin branches holding small pointy ended leaves ranging from greenish to yellow and has red and yellow flowers.

- Flowers of ‘uhaloa are considered good medicine for children
- To help with chest pain when trying to breathe, the taproot is chewed and the liquid is swallowed, sediment is discarded.
- Women used the leaf buds, lower leaves, flowers, and taproot bark, pounded and mixed with ‘ala’alawainui pehu, ki flowers, kohekohe, hala aerial roots, nui flesh, ripe noni fruits, and ko kea in a mixture that is strained and the juice of a papaya is added and liquid is cooked and drank to helps women in sensitive areas.

- This plant can also help with losing weight and asthma.
- Most of the remedies from this plant is taken internally after being cooked and then cooled.
