ʻImi Naʻauao Peer Mentor Program

The Kapiʻolani Community College ʻImi Naʻauao STEM Peer Mentoring Program aims to nurture student growth, achievement, and professional development by employing and training student peer mentors to support students enrolled in STEM classes. Guided by the concept of ʻimi naʻauao, meaning to seek knowledge or education, the Peer Mentoring Program cultivates collaborative learning to support the growth of both mentors and mentees.

Peer Mentoring Schedule

Announcement (8-17-2023): The STEM Center is open for Fall 2023: M-Th, 10 am - 5 pm., F 10 am - 4 pm. Peer mentoring is available online through Google Meet, and limited peer mentoring is available at the STEM Center.

Mentoring is available for free to all students enrolled at Kapi'olani CC. We encourage all students to take advantage of this free service! You can view the tutoring schedule by each subject in the tabs below.

Once you select the subject tab, make sure you choose a peer mentor who is able to help you with the course you are enrolled in. Check by their name to see all courses they are eligible to mentor. It will be clearly noted if the mentor is in-person at the STEM Center—if not noted, they will be mentoring fully online. If you do not see the course listed that you need assistance with, please contact the STEM Outreach Coordinator, Kalei Galarita, at kgalarit@hawaii.edu.

You can enter a session at any point during the peer mentor’s shift. Click on a peer mentor’s name and scheduled shift. A bubble should appear with the time of the session and instructions to click on link provided to join the session.
