Iliahi Aloe

Description: Sprawling shrub that can reach heights of 10-30 feet with a spread of at most 10 feet. Produces showy cream or greenish white flowers. Plant texture can be fine or medium with leaves that are 1 – 2 ½ inches long and leathery to succulent in texture. The leaves are light green in color.

  • The heartwood and bark were used as a fragrance for the odor of new kapa.
  • Some of the flowers and fruits were used in lei making.
  • Sometimes it was used to make ‘ukeke (musical bow).
  • Sometimes used as firewood.
