ʻImi Naʻauao Peer Mentor Program

The Kapiʻolani Community College ʻImi Naʻauao STEM Peer Mentoring Program aims to nurture student growth, achievement, and professional development by employing and training student peer mentors to support students enrolled in STEM classes. Guided by the concept of ʻimi naʻauao, meaning to seek knowledge or education, the Peer Mentoring Program cultivates collaborative learning to support the growth of both mentors and mentees.

Peer Mentoring Schedule

Mentoring is available for free to all students enrolled at Kapi’olani CC.

You can view the tutoring schedule by each subject in the tabs below. Once you select the subject tab, you can see the peer mentor who is able to help you with the course you are enrolled in and their schedule. If you do not see the course listed that you need assistance with, please contact the STEM Director, Herve Collin at herve@hawaii.edu.

All mentoring sessions are drop-in at the STEM Center in Kokiʻo 202.

Please read the FAQ below if this is the first time you are using this service.

How should I prepare for a mentoring session?
  • Gather course materials and have textbooks, notes, assignment guidelines, the syllabus, and other relevant information at hand
  • Identify what you need help on: prepare specific questions and pinpoint exactly where you may have difficulties.
What do I do after the session is over?
  • You will need to complete an exit survey that you will receive through your UH email after your mentoring session. This survey will help us to refine and improve our services.
